How deliveries work across the atolls.
Overview
SwipeM merchants ship to every inhabited island in the Maldives. Delivery timelines and costs depend on the merchant's location, your atoll, and the shipping method chosen at checkout.
Shipping zones
Malé area (same-day / 1-2 days)
Covers Malé, Hulhumalé, Villimalé, and Thilafushi. Most merchants offer same-day delivery for orders placed before noon, or next-day for later orders. Typical cost: MVR 50-150.
Nearby atolls (2-4 days)
Kaafu, Alif Alif, Alif Dhaal, and Vaavu atolls. Deliveries typically go via speedboat or ferry from Malé. Typical cost: MVR 200-400.
Remote atolls (5-10 days)
All other atolls. Deliveries use a combination of domestic air freight (Maldivian, FlyMe, Manta Air) and local boat transfer to the destination island. Typical cost: MVR 500-800.
Shipping methods
- Local Delivery — merchant's own delivery or a Malé-area courier
- Express — same-day delivery, Malé area only
- Speedboat — inter-island within an atoll
- Ferry — scheduled public ferry service
- Domestic Air — to distant atolls
- Pickup — buyer collects from the merchant's location
Free shipping
Many merchants offer free shipping on orders above a threshold (typically MVR 1,000). You'll see free-shipping eligibility on the product page and at checkout.
Tracking
Once your order ships, the merchant provides a tracking number visible on your order detail page. You'll also receive in-app notifications when the status changes.
Delays
Weather, sea conditions, and flight schedules can affect delivery timelines, especially for remote atolls. Merchants will update the tracking status if a delay occurs.
Damaged or lost packages
If your package arrives damaged or doesn't arrive at all, contact the merchant via the order detail page within 7 days. See our returns & refunds policy for details.
